Nancy Zieman's Fall Table Runner Challenge

Those of you who follow my blog regularly may remember (last spring) when I entered Nancy Zieman's Pillow Challenge and your votes helped me win first prize...well, a couple weeks ago, I was SUPER excited to see a new challenge was posted...this time for fall table runners. Table runner entries could feature any fall occasion, color palette, or size that fits on a kitchen or dining room table and you could enter up to four different table runners that have been sewn within the last year.  We all know how much sewing and quilting I get accomplished...so, of course I entered the maximum of four projects by uploading photos and details on the Nancy Zieman blog with a chance to win some FABULOUS prizes!!

I hope you will support my entries by voting...it truly only takes a second - you don't have to register - all you have to do is find my four images on the voting page (they are shown randomly)  and click on the "heart" in the top right-hand corner of each one - it is that easy - and you can cast up to FIVE unique votes (which means you could vote one time for each of my entries) during the voting period! I am one of many that grew up watching Nancy on PBS, learning sewing skills and techniques from her extensive catalog of Sewing With Nancy programs...her books are in my collection...her catalog is one of my favorites...her sewing notions are in my studio...and her blog is in my daily reader...I am a fan!

Pumpkins and Spice

Today, I am sharing another one of my original autumn creations...my "Pumpkins and Spice" table topper. For this fall project, I combined Sawtooth Star blocks with golden fabric points to make what I like to think of as a sunflower center. I cut the 12" blocks on my AccuQuilt Studio Fabric Cutter...and used a fabulous border print (an older fabric in my stash - Pumpkins and Spice by Whimsicals for Red Rooster Fabrics). The final project measures 32" x 32"...and was designed to be used square or on point.  This autumn table topper has already been shipped off to a new home and (you guessed it) I didn't waste any time moving on to the next project...which I will be ready to share in the next day or two...

Of course, my sewing machine has been humming along today...and I'll be in my stitching nest tonight working on the model for my exclusive fundraising design...as always, I have a ton of creative endeavors in progress and I'll be back to share some of them with you very soon!

Harvest Home

It's that time of year again...summer is slowly fading and we are quickly headed toward the autumn months. I have been spending some time designing and sewing/quilting projects for fall. I finished up this original table topper project this week...and I just loved working with some subtle autumn prints paired with a focus fabric. This table topper combines Sawtooth Star blocks and Jewel Box blocks giving the pattern a nice outward movement and I thoroughly enjoyed creating it! I cut all of the pieces for my "Harvest Home" project on my AccuQuilt Studio Fabric Cutter, making it quick and easy. The quilt blocks are all 10" square, making a nice custom size of 30" x 30". It has already been shipped off to a happy home and I didn't waste any time moving on to the next project, which I will share very soon...

Currently, I am quilting a Halloween project, but for the rest of the night, I will be in my stitching nest working on the model for my Komen 3-Day fundraising design - in am frantically stitching trying to get it complete by the end of the month...
