Quilted Cats and Bats

I can't believe I leave on Wednesday morning for my trip to New Hampshire...I am really looking forward to teaching at two New England Stitching Retreats...and seeing/meeting needlework friends! It has been a busy few weeks, as I have been getting all the preparations done for both the New England Retreats and the Elegant Stitch Workshop...along with several teaching proposals for upcoming events. So, with all that hard work completed, it was time to do a little sewing/quilting - I have been itching to get back to my sewing machine!

I decided to work on a Halloween wall hanging using a couple of my new AccuQuilt GO! dies and my new GO! Baby fabric cutter. This spooky wall hanging was cut entirely with my GO! and GO! Baby fabric cutters...it used the following dies: GO! Cat & Bat, GO! Pumpkins, GO! Circle 5", GO! Rick Rack, GO! Strip Cutter 1 1/2", GO Strip Cutter 4 1/2", and GO! Strip Cutter 2" (binding). I enjoyed working on the layout and picking out fabrics...for some reason, over the years, I have collected quite a few Halloween fabrics and it was quite fun putting some of them to use. I placed a sleeve on the back and my husband made me another wooden strip with a sawtooth hanger, so I was able to hang it right away (even though I won't be home for the next week and a half to enjoy it). I savored the couple hours in my sewing studio and have a few more Halloween ideas I would love to put together when I return from my first October trip.
