Easy-To-Sew Stitching Gift & Giveaway

Today I want to share with you a sewing favorite of mine...so much a favorite, that I have made four of these as gifts for stitching friends! The design is titled "Needle Case" (#105) and is from Lazy Girl Designs. This cute little needle case has two pockets (one on the inside bottom and one on the outside back)....the middle panel on the inside will hold your pins and needles...the pocket on the inside will hold your scissors (up to 4") and an assortment of other stitching goodies such as a needle threader, floss, needle minder, or small ruler....the pocket on the outside back is perfect for a package of needles. It folds up into a small-sized case (see images below) approximately 4" W x 3" H....so it is perfect for putting in your stitching bag. This design has great instructions and requires very few materials....and it can be embellished a number of ways with ribbon, buttons, and trims...I even used two colors of fabric to "spruce" it up. A great little project for the beginner or the advanced seamstress...and a fun gift for a stitching/sewing friend...

Would you like to have one of these needle cases for your very own??..well, I may be able to help you with that! I have one already made...yes, made with my own two hands...using the same fabrics above, but not identical...that I am going to give away to one lucky reader.
Simply leave a comment regarding this post and you will be entered to win...let me know what you would put in your needle case or where you would keep it or how you would put it to good use...
I will use the random generator to choose a winner next Wednesday, September 30th. Please leave your email address in your post (if it is not in your profile), so I have a way to contact you should be the lucky recipient. Overseas entries welcome.
...and one final note: the giveaway is for one needle case only - you will need to fill it with your own pins, needles, scissors, and accessories. Good luck to all...

  1. I love the needlecase. How cute. I keep the needle case in my current project that I'm stitching. I would keep in it all the stuff I throw in the bag - my scissors, needles, seam riper. Everything right together.

  3. Hi
What a beautiful case and such a lovely design.
I would love this for my needles and bits and pieces so each time I went away, all my stitchy things would be easy to just pop into my bag.
    Thank you for offering it.

  4. Oh, I love this and how generous of you to give one away! I made one with the outside fabric for a friend of mine but never got around to making one for myself. Who doesn't have pins and needles and scissors that need a home in a beautiful needlecase? thanks so much for the offer!

  6. I'm don't "sew", so I would never make one for myself. (At least not until I finally get a sewing machine and LOTS of lessons!) That having been said, I think that handmade presents are the best presents.

If I was lucky enough to win the needle case, it would be filled with supplies for what ever project I was currently working on as well as a pair of my favorite Dovo scissors. The case would go everywhere with me, since typically I'm rarely without my stitching.

Thank you for your kind and generous offer!

Could I be in the draw please?

  11. Oh I love this little case! I have never been able to figure out why when my children were little (they are in their 30's now) I sewed almost all of their clothes and now I can't figure out how to do these types of things! I would keep this in my stitching bag that I keep with me when stitching. In it I would have my scissors, extra needles and maybe a needle threader which I never can seem to find when I need one.

  13. although i xstitch, i am otherwise useless with a needle so i would be honoured to fill that little case with my bits and bobs and it would save them getting lost in my motorhome.

  14. If I was lucky enough to win I think I might keep this on my desk at work to remind me why I work (to pay for stash, obviously!) and it would make me smile to think of the friendliness of stitchers and their generosity to each other.

Thanks for a fun giveaway :)

  15. This would work so much better than my little magnetic needle case that came from the HOSPITAL! LOL I love Lazy Girl Designs, they are very useful and easy to make. I would love to win one already made by you.

  16. Such a cute little needle case! I'm not sure if I would be able to make one though. I sure would like to have the one you are giving away. Right now my scissors are loose in my stitching bag. If I had your needle case, I could put my scissors in there as well as some extra needles. Then I would know right where they were.
    Thanks for the giveaway.

  21. Hi Belinda! I love your needlecase - love the sampler fabric and the green lining - I have several pieces in progress and would love a sewing case to put needles, scissors, thread palette all together, so I don't have to keep moving the tool pouch from project to project! I would like to be included in your drawing!

  29. If it's OK, I'd love to go into the draw for one of these beautiful accessory cases. I'm always fossicking through various parts of my bedroom when putting together a 'travel project' - needles from one place, scissors from another, and so on - having them all pre-prepared in one little kit altogether would be so wise, and such a time-saver! And I can always guarantee when I take my own travel kit I invariably leave something out, and I invariably need it on the first night! Thanks so much for offering this giveaway, it's very generous of you :)

  34. Hi,

I just found your blog. I think the needlecase would be great to keep on the table beside my stitchy chair. I can also use it when I pack up to go to a friends house to stitch.

  35. Hi Belinda. I follow your blog so that I am one of the first to know about your new designs so that I can re-post on my own blog. When I read your posts where you share your sewing projects, I always think to myself that I must find a class where I can learn to use my sewing machine better.
This needle case is wonderful. I have gotten into the habit of taking a small stitching project to work with me every day so that I can stitch during my short lunch break. I throw everything into a basket and away I go. It would be nice to add this needle case to my basket every day.
Thanks so much for the contest!

  44. Oh, Belinda, How I'd love that case! As you know, I stitch on the run, and I'm forever, misplacing needles and scissors--(my family often sits on them in the car. oops!) This might help me stay a bit more organized. Love your stuff and your blog. Thanks for a fun opportunity to win such a cute prize!

  45. That little puppy would go with me everywhere my stitching did! LOL! I'd have my beautiful Ginghers in there along with my favorite needles. I say 'needles' because you can never have enough when you're on the road with your stitching ;o)
What a beautiful organizer and I'll have my fingers crossed that I win ;o) Thank you for such a lovely gift.

  50. I know I'm too late for the contest, but I just wanted so say how naughty you are for posting a link to Lazy Girl Designs. I'm so in love with her patterns! I'm just starting out in the quilting world and some of her quilt patterns are on my wish list already. Thank you (I think).
