Creative Clothespins

A creative afternoon in the studio produced these fun clothespin magnets. They are super easy to make and a fun way to use all those special embellishments in your collection. I purchased a bag of clothespins and a sheet of magnets at a local craft shop (easy to find and relatively inexpensive)...and the rest of the supplies I had in my stash. First I cut and glued a strip of magnet on the back of each clothes pin...then I applied glue on the top with a foam brush, attaching a piece of 3/8" grosgrain ribbon. After the glue dried, I attached various buttons, ribbons, wool pieces, crocheted flowers, rick rack, etc. to decorate each one. Easy peasy! It was fun to choose each of the ribbons and matching treasures....and they went together in no time at all - actually, the longest step was waiting for the glue to dry. I plan to attach them to specially made gift cards and give them out as gifts during the holiday season. Perfect for leaving a loved one a note on the fridge or hanging a photo on a magnet board...and I think I will use them to organize some of the paperwork in my office (that should definitely make my paperwork more cheerful!). I hope this post will inspire you to impress your friends and family by creating some holiday gifts of your own...
