Sunday/Monday Sewing

Before I start today's sewing post...I want to share my excitement...I see I have reached 200 followers - WOW, I really am amazed! I mentioned I was contemplating a giveaway when I hit this milestone - and I do plan to have that giveaway very soon...I am still working out the details, so stay tuned...
A HUGE thank you to all who read/follow my blog - I appreciate each and every one of you!!

As you have probably been able to tell by my newsletter and blog posts, I have been keeping quite busy model stitching the new designs for the St. Charles Needlework Market in September...I am planning on three new releases and I am trying my best to get everything ready before I take a much needed vacation at the end of the month. Although I truly adore my hand needlework, I have definitely been needing a quilting/sewing fix - so I pieced a small project yesterday and finished the quilting and binding this afternoon. Those of you who quilt will recognize this as a "Weather Vane"...it is actually a miniature quilt, measuring about 12.5" x 12.5" square. The fabric is from the line "Home to Roost" by Renee Nanneman for Andover Fabrics. This project was super fun to complete and gave me that much needed quilting time! Now, I am headed back to my stitching nest and my model stitching...

  3. Those are really beautiful fabrics and colors. I can identify with needing a sewing/quilting fix! I switch back and forth constantly. It is not that I love one thing over the other either. I just have too many passions I guess...lol. Do you always stitch your own models for your designs? Have fun getting things ready for the upcoming show!

  4. The colors are beautiful. You did that all in one day? I'd be lucky to do it in a week or two. Very nice

  8. That's a pretty little quilt! I was looking at all the new fabrics last weekend (on the online quilt shops) and this one drew my attention. Loved the line, but have to reduce my stash first..

  9. So cute Belinda. I love my handwork too but sometimes you just need that sewing/quilting fix.

  10. Your 'Weather Vane' quilt is just beautiful! Love your choice of colors too! I used to do a lot of hand piecing and quilting, and am now and then very tempted to start a small quilting project again.

  11. Can't wait to see your new designs Belinda. I have to constantly juggle my stitching and quilting and now needlepunch too. It's a tough life ha ha! Your block looks great - I love all the traditional patterns. So glad Renee Nanneman is doing fabrics now, I've loved her things from way back.
