I am so SUPER EXCITED to share my latest finish with you - my holiday table runner. This is my first big fusible applique project and I am so very proud of it! It might have taken me a few weeks to get it completed, but it turned out just as I imagined. I am so glad I used the black fabric in place of the light blue...it is much more my style and matches my home decor much better. I spent a lot of time practicing the applique snowflakes before working on the actual runner and they were a wonderful challenge with all the curves and turns. I used a new to me paperbacked fusible web by Shades Textiles called Soft Fuse and I must say, it is the best fusible web product I have ever worked with - it is very thin, flexible, and soft - so soft, you can't even tell I used a fusible product - this will be my fusible web of choice for all my applique projects (no affiliation - just a happy customer)! If you missed some of my earlier posts, this Holidays to GO! table runner is a free project from AccuQuilt - and used the Holiday Medley die for the GO! fabric cutter...it has a finished size of 12" x 46", so it is quite large. I was pretty happy with my 96 pieced half square triangles and my "getting better every time" binding skills. All in all, this is one of my finer finishes (I'm glad I took my time) and I can't wait to do another applique project!...maybe a fall project with leaves, acorns, and pumpkins...
Congratulations on your beautiful finish! The black fabric really shows up well in the close up photo. I'll look forward to seeing your next applique project.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBelinda, it's FABULOUS! Love the contrast. I know you'll enjoy it for years!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out gorgeous, Belinda! I love the use of the black fabric with your snowflakes instead of the light blue!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your weekend!
Robin
Just beautiful, Bel. Congratulations on a great finish!
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful Belinda! Love the black fabric, it would go better than the blue with my decor too! A fall project would be great!
ReplyDeleteWow that is fantastic!! I can't believe that is your first. You did a wonderful job, and I would want to do another too, if I were you!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!! Gorgeous finish!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic finish
ReplyDeleteWow, it is just beautiful! Great work.
ReplyDeleteIt turned out just perfect! Now you just have to wait until December...
ReplyDeleteVery cute finish! I like your version much better than the original.
ReplyDeleteIt's absolutely fabulous Belinda!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice - really cool! I don't like to bind and have to continue to work at those skills too - when I'm sewing in hand, I prefer cross stitch...but it is worth it to have a finish!
ReplyDeleteHope you made it home safe and sound Belinda. Loved the class and love this runner. It would look really nice with the beautiful snowflake ornament I received with you-hmmmm?
