Rosy Cheeks Fabric Tour
I’m absolutely delighted to welcome you to my stop on the Poppie Cotton Rosy Cheeks Fabric Tour! Thank you so much for dropping by—it's always a treat to connect with you.
Today, I’m thrilled to share the special pieces I created using the brand-new Rosy Cheeks Collection by Lori Woods for Poppie Cotton. The moment I laid eyes on these cheerful prints, I couldn’t wait to put on my quilt designer hat and dive in!
About the Collection
This darling collection—shipping to quilt shops this month—is bursting with charm. You’ll find sweet motifs like strawberries, chickens, flower bouquets, bows, teacups, roses, bunnies, and polka dots—all wrapped in a delightful palette of pinks, reds, blues, yellows, greens, and white. It’s sunshine and happiness in fabric form, and I had the best time bringing these prints to life!
✨ Project 1: Mini-Medi Tote Bag
First up is my Mini-Medi Tote Bag, a favorite pattern of
my own design and the perfect everyday carryall. It measures 12.5” W x 12” H x 3" D
(plus handles with a 5.5" drop) and features:
- Two rounded exterior pockets
- Two large interior pockets
- Roomy design made from just one charm pack and one yard of fabric
This pattern is ideal for showcasing small motifs and intricate details, and the Country Confetti Cotton Candy Dark Pink lining and handles add the perfect pop of color. The instructions are thorough and beginner-friendly, making it a great project for all skill levels.

✨ Project 2: Coordinating Project Bags
Of course, my tote needed some matching project bags (no patterns for these - just playing around in my studio)! I
created two:
- Large Bag: 11-5/8” x 9-7/8” with a wool appliquรฉ strawberry
- Small Bag: 7-3/4” x 7-7/8” with a wool appliquรฉ teacup
Both bags are patchwork-style, showing off the adorable prints, and feature solid-colored zipper pulls. I used my favorite Wool Blend Felt from Benzie Design and added a sweet ¼” button to each blossom for a charming finishing touch.
✨ Project 3: “Bon Jour” Zippered Pouches
Last but not least, I stitched up three small zippered pouches using the sweetest “Bon Jour” prints (again, no patterns, just my creativity). Each pouch:
- Features a different colorway
- Is paired with Country Confetti basics
- Includes hand-dyed rick rack from Lady Dot Creates
- Has rounded bottoms and colorful zipper pulls for extra flair
These little pouches are perfect for gifting or organizing your sewing notions.
Which project was your favorite? I’d love to hear what you’re inspired to make!
I hope this stop on the Rosy Cheeks Fabric Tour has sparked your creativity. Be sure to check out the Poppie Cotton Blog and follow them on social media for even more inspiration using this delightful collection.
If you’ve fallen in love with Rosy Cheeks like I have, don’t forget to ask for it at your favorite quilt shop—it’s shipping now!
And there’s more fun ahead! I’m already working on a new Poppie Cotton project for the upcoming Granny’s Sewing Room collection by Sheri McCulley. My day on that fabric tour is Thursday, August 14th, so mark your calendars. Plus, I’ll be sharing two brand-new project tutorials on the Therm O Web Blog and the Benzie Design Blog on Monday, July 21st—think Christmas in July! ๐
Thanks again for visiting—I can’t wait to share what’s next.
Until then, happy stitching!

Frost and Flurry Fabric Tour
I’m so delighted to welcome you to my stop on the Poppie Cotton Frost and Flurry Fabric Tour! ❄️✨ Thank you for popping by—it's always a treat to have you here.
Today, I’m thrilled to share four special pieces I created using the brand-new Frost and Flurry Collection by the talented Sheri McCulley for Poppie Cotton. As soon as I saw these whimsical winter prints, I couldn’t wait to put on my quilt designer hat and dive in!
This charming collection (shipping to quilt shops this month!) is filled with delightful seasonal motifs—think snowmen, reindeer, owls, foxes, ornaments, snowflakes, tossed flowers, and winter berries—all wrapped in a cozy palette of greens, reds, pinks, blues, and snowy whites. It’s the perfect mix of festive and heartwarming, and I had so much fun bringing these prints to life.
For my first project, I created a charming small quilt that also works beautifully as a table topper. Measuring 25 ½” x 25 ½”, this piece features a delightful mix of machine appliquรฉ snowflake blocks and foundation pieced tree blocks, bringing a cozy winter scene to life. I used Country Confetti, one of Poppie Cotton’s lovely basics, for the snowflakes, tree backgrounds, and binding—it adds just the right touch of texture and whimsy. The quilt is finished with hanging tabs, making it perfect for display on a small quilt hanger or as a festive accent on your holiday table. I didn’t follow a pattern for this one—it was a fun, creative journey as I designed it along the way!
Next up, I stitched up two adorable project bags—one small and one medium—each with its own personality and charm!
The small zippered pouch measures 7 ¾" W x by 7" H and features sweet appliquรฉ wool felt motifs across the bottom fabric strip, accented with hand-dyed rick rack trim along the bottom for a playful touch. I added a bit of whimsy with a baker’s twine zipper pull, giving it a handmade, homespun feel.
The medium zippered bag measures 9 ½" W x 9 ¾" H and is a cheerful patchwork design that showcases a variety of prints from the Frost and Flurry collection. For a fun focal point, I created an appliquรฉ snow globe block in the lower right-hand corner using fussy cut fabric and Benzie Design Wool Blend Felt. Inside the globe, I added round and star sequins to mimic falling snow, along with some hand stitching for extra texture and sparkle. Like the smaller pouch, this one is finished with a baker’s twine zipper pull for a cohesive, handmade look.
Again, I didn’t follow a pattern for these zippered pouches—just played in my studio and let the fabrics guide the way!
And finally, I created a wintery twist on my Sweet Sewing Book—a cozy little sewing/needlebook that measures 6 ¼" x 6 ¼" when closed. For the cover, I designed another appliquรฉ snow globe, using fussy cut fabric and wool felt, embellished with round and star sequins to mimic falling snow. A bit of hand stitching adds texture and charm, and the whole scene is framed with hand-dyed rick rack from Lady Dot Creates.
Inside, the book features multiple pockets and two wool felt needle pages made from Benzie Design Wool Blend Felt, each decorated with sweet fussy cut fabric motifs. The scissor tie is made from hand-dyed twill tape (also from Lady Dot Creates), and the closure is finished with a vintage button and elastic loop for a nostalgic touch. As a fun detail, I included a tree needle minder inside, made using fabric from a previous Poppie Cotton collection. I also added the perfect decorative pins from (my favorite) Puntini Puntini.
Again, I didn’t follow a pattern for this one either—I designed it along the way.
Which project was your favorite? I’d love to hear what you’re inspired to make!

This quick and adaptable project uses five vibrant shades of Wool Blend Felt from Benzie Design:
It also features an adorable Ladybug Wool Felt Shape, which adds a playful touch to the finished piece. One of my new favorite tools made its debut in this project too—a pair of 10mm Scallop Shears, perfect for adding a decorative edge to your felt.
This project is designed with flexibility in mind. You can opt for a fast, no-sew finish using glue, or take your time with hand stitching or machine sewing. Directions and supply suggestions are included for each method, so you can choose the approach that best suits your style and schedule.
I hope this cheerful little project brings a bit of sunshine to your day and inspires you to spend an hour or two in your crafting space.
