Holiday Lights
Last night, we had a small neighborhood gathering. One of our neighbors rented a 15-seat passenger van and drove 14 of us around to see some of the best holiday light displays in Kansas City. We drove all over Overland Park, Olathe, Lenexa, Gardener, downtown KC and the Plaza. We all wore ugly Christmas sweaters or Christmas pajamas...and Christmas light necklaces (that lit up). The adults had cocktails...and the kids had juice...and there were homemade cookies. The final stop of the tour was Austin's (a bar and grill in Gardner, KS), where we ordered food and beverages and just enjoyed each other's company. The photos are from one of the stops were we got out of the van and took some group photos...this is Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park in Lenexa....
Next up today, I wanted to share the last five days from Jenny's Countdown to Christmas Box with you. It has been truly delightful to open a present a day...and every day has been special! If you are not familiar with this box, it is a sewing advent calendar from the Missouri Star Quilt Company with 25 numbered and wrapped presents. I previously shared the first 10 days. Today's post includes days numbered 11 through 15. Before I go any further, this is not really a spoiler, as everyone who has this box should already have the gifts from the 11th - 15th opened - but if you do not want to know what was in each of these packages, stop reading/looking now... Click on images, if you want a larger view...

Tonight was a holiday dinner with my girlfriends. We went to Fortune Wok in Overland Park for dinner (it was really good!) and exchanged a few gifts. Spending time with the strong, intelligent women in my life is always uplifting and inspiring.
Now, I am back to work at my desk for a fun surprise I have coming on Tuesday...so stop back on Monday for the cross stitch finishing tutorial and on Tuesday for a holiday surprise! ๐๐

Four Winter Wishes - New Cross Stitch
These last couple weeks have found me in my happy place, working on new patterns and designs. Today, I am here to share my latest cross stitch pattern release, "Four Winter Wishes." If you have been following along, then you know this is my fifth pattern release in the last two weeks - two cross stitch patterns and three quilting patterns!
My heart has been smiling while working on all sorts of creative projects - so let's talk about the latest one. Yes, it's another NEW cross stitch release alert! I just listed another winter/holiday cross stitch design called "Four Winter Wishes" and it is available in both paper pattern and digital format in my Etsy shop. Here are a few more details...
Four Winter Wishes (BRD-135)
This set of four winter/holiday designs is in a traditional sampler format - and includes both Cross Stitch Over-One and Cross Stitch Over-Two...and some Back Stitches (if finished, as shown). I finished these four designs as ornaments with a beaded edge, but they work perfectly as bowl fillers, finished with your favorite method...they would also look lovely as small framed designs. The fifteen-page pattern contains
charting for the Four Winter Wishes counted cross stitch designs (in
color and black and white), stitching instructions, stitch diagrams,
personalization page, enlarged Cross Stitch Over-One charts, and complete
finishing instructions (to finish as shown). Models are stitched with Weeks Dye Works Cotton Floss (DMC conversions included) on 32-count Examplar from Lakeside Linens, but most any neutral fabric will do...just make sure the white snowflakes will be visible.

A note about the special sampler fabric project bags shown below:
These are VERY limited BBD sampler fabric project bags - they are made from vintage Blackbird Designs fabric…these extremely limited signature project bags are custom cut to showcase the samplers printed on the fabrics and are only listed in my Etsy Shop…see listings, when available for size and details. These sell very quickly, so if you are looking for one (or more!), keep an eye on my social media and Etsy Shop. I am working through stacks of yardage, one specific print at a time - when the particular bags in each photo are gone, they are gone - I have used every scrap I have before posting. While I adore these fabrics and have saved them for personal sewing, I have realized there is no way I will ever have enough time to sew for myself...so, I decided to share the wealth and create for my shop. I am working from my vast BBD vintage sampler fabric collection and will add special bags each week until it is gone. I do not take advance orders (creating/sewing these bags brings me joy, taking orders steals my joy and adds quite a bit of time/stress to the process).
