Hello, friends! Happy Monday—and for those of you in the United States, Happy Labor Day!

You’ve picked the perfect day to stop by, because I have not one, but two project tutorials to share with you. I’m thrilled to kick off Fall Craft Week, a special collaboration between Benzie Design and Therm O Web!

These two creative companies are teaming up with some of your favorite makers this week to bring you fall-themed crafting projects that are perfect for craft fairs, fundraisers, or making in multiples. And since I’m lucky enough to be on the maker team for both Benzie Design and Therm O Web, I’m starting the week with a tutorial on each of their blogs.

🌸 On the Benzie Design Blog, you’ll find my tutorial for the Flower Pinkeep. I use deep etch dies to quickly cut the circles and flower shapes, making this project a breeze.

🌻 On the Therm O Web Blog, you’ll find my tutorial for the Sunflower Pinkeep. If you don’t have die-cutting tools, no worries—I’ve included templates and instructions for using SpraynBond Pattern and Stencil Spray with paper templates to cut your shapes by hand.

Both tutorials include:

  • A complete supply list
  • Step-by-step instructions
  • Helpful photos to guide you along the way
  • Pro tips

For both projects, I use Bellwether Felt from Benzie Design, along with adhesives and interfacings from Therm O Web.

These charming pinkeeps are a joy to customize—choose rich autumn tones, spirited school colors, or your own favorite palette to make each one uniquely yours. They’re perfect for seasonal decorating, adding a touch of whimsy to a bowl of smalls, or tucking into a sewing basket or needlework tray.

Whether you're crafting for a fair or simply for fun, these little treasures are sure to brighten any space!

A Collaboration with Therm O Web and Benzie Design

Cross Stitch Ornament Tags ©Copyright 2025 Belinda Karls-Nace/Blue Ribbon Designs, LLC https://blueribbondesigns.blogspot.com/
Who says you have to wait until December to get into the holiday spirit? I'm celebrating Christmas in July with a jolly fun stitching project that’s as festive as it is versatile—Cross Stitch Ornament Tags!

These little tags pack a big punch of holiday cheer. Each one is double-sided:
🎁 One side is personalized with a name or message, perfect for gift-giving.
πŸŽ„ The other side features a sweet ornament design, ready to hang on the tree as a keepsake!

Whether you stitch one side or both, you’ll love how easy these are to make. Cross stitch is done on a neutral 32-count linen/evenweave or 16-count Aida cloth with Sulky Petites or DMC cotton floss. The tags are cut from Wool Blend Felt by Benzie Design, stiffened with SpraynBond Fabric Stiffener Spray....and there is a cute holly embellishment made from Wool Blend Felt with the option of a tiny 1/4" button. The tie/hanger is cute, red and white baker's twine.

Baker's Twine Candy Cane Embellishments

Baker's Twine Candy Cane Embellishments ©Copyright 2024 Belinda Karls-Nace/Blue Ribbon Designs, LLC http://www.blueribbondesigns.blogspot.com
Greetings friends...and welcome back! If you visited with me yesterday and took a peek at my Gingerbread Cottage Pincushion, then you have seen my Baker's Twine Candy Canes. When I designed my Gingerbread Cottage, I knew I wanted some tiny candy canes to embellish it...but knew I was going to have to create my own. Looking around my sewing studio, the baker's twine caught my eye and I immediately started working on an idea...and thanks to Therm O Web and their SpraynBond Fabric Stiffener Spray, I was able to make my vision come to life. Yesterday, I shared my process and a complete tutorial on the Therm O Web Blog. I hope you will visit my post and make a handful of these adorable little candy canes. They would make a wonderful addition to a handmade holiday gift and can be made in a variety of sizes and colors...

These holiday embellishments are perfect for fabric or paper crafts! Add them to a Christmas sewing project or a Christmas card or tag. I thought they would be extra cute added to a handmade Christmas ornament...or on a little drawstring bag...or added to napkin rings for special touch to a Christmas dinner place setting. These tiny candy canes can be sewn on or glued in place using HeatnBond Fabric Fuse Adhesive. They can be made with your favorite color/size of baker's twine...and can be made any size you want! Here is a Christmas card I am creating from fabrics and threads at my sewing machine...the candy canes will be sewn in place....

....and here is the Gingerbread Cottage Pincushion that sparked the idea. Don't the tiny candy canes add a magical quality to my project?! They make me happy!

You can find the candy cane tutorial on the Therm O Web Blog here:

Greetings friends! It is new project tutorial day - time to share my March project created for Therm O Web with you! I always enjoy putting on my Fabric Education Designer hat and creating new projects/tutorials to share with you on the Therm O Web blog. Each month, I share a new project and you give you my tips and tricks for using their wonderful line of fabric, craft, and sewing products. For the month of March, the blog is focused on early-start gifts (baby, kids, grads), scrappy solutions, projects with dimension, and springtime makes. I created a brand new project that was posted yesterday - it is a complete project tutorial for my "Bitty Goody Basket." My comprehensive tutorial contains a complete supply list, printable pattern with template, and step-by-step directions with color photos. This is a fast and easy project, perfect for using up scraps and great for beginners. I chose to use some cheerful fabrics from the Garden Party collection by Sheri McCulley for Poppie Cotton. I hope you will stop by the Therm O Web blog and check out my project and tutorial...

This is an easy, springtime project that can definitely be a scrap buster! It uses minimal supplies and is perfect for Easter, May Day, or a special gift. Fill it with treats and/or treasures...I can even see this as a little mending basket filled with needles, tiny scissors, and spools of thread. For this post, I used HeatnBond Craft Extra Firm Non-Woven Fusible Interfacing, HeatnBond Medium Weight Non-Woven Fusible Interfacing, and SpraynBond Pattern & Stencil Spray...plus, I give you tips for using each of these items. I also used two 8.5" squares of fabric and one 2" x 9" strip of fabric and a couple buttons. Visit the tutorial post for a complete and detailed supply list.

No sewing or ironing needed…simply press-on and go. It is machine washable and dryable... and very strong, with an instant bond. Sweet Treat Mini Stocking

Sweet Treat Mini Stocking ©Copyright 2023 Belinda Karls-Nace/Blue Ribbon Designs, LLC http://www.blueribbondesigns.blogspot.com

I always enjoy putting on my Fabric Education Designer hat and creating new projects/tutorials to share with you on their popular blog (Therm O Web are the makers of all those wonderful HeatnBond and SpraynBond products). Each month, I share a fun, new project and give you my tips and tricks for using their products. For the month of November, the blog is focused on holiday gifts, along with Christmas and winter ideas. I created a brand new project that was posted yesterday - it is a complete project tutorial for my "Sweet Treat Mini Stocking." My comprehensive tutorial contains a complete supply list, printable pattern with templates, and step-by-step directions with color photos. This is a quick and easy project, perfect for holiday decorating and gift giving. These are the perfect size to tie on a package, hang on a tree, or hold a gift card and/or holiday treats. I hope you will stop by the Therm O Web blog and check out my project and tutorial...

This is a joy-filled sewing project that is perfect for fat quarters or fat eighths or scraps. Are you familiar with SpraynBond Pattern & Stencil Spray? I know I have talked about this product before, but it is so impressive, I am sharing it again. I use this for every project I create with paper templates - I even keep an extra bottle on hand, as it makes working with paper templates so much easier! SpraynBond Pattern & Stencil Spray is a temporary, light-tack adhesive for fabric that will hold patterns down, keep stencils in place and can be used on rulers to keep the cutting guide straight. Pattern & Stencil Adhesive is repositionable, re-usable and does not leave that icky residue on fabrics. The templates I provide for today's tutorial can be printed on regular printer paper and used with SpraynBond Pattern & Stencil Spray to easily cut out your stockings (no tracing the templates or using pins or tape to hold the templates in place).
